The Andersons of Clinton, Iowa
This is the web site of Connor and Laura Anderson and our children, Molly, Liam and Josephine. We live in Clinton, Iowa right on the Mississippi River. Connor is an independent IT consultant with over 17 years experience in the field. He has worked with businesses ranging from the Fortune 500 to the store on the corner. He writes a semi-regular blog about things that happen at the intersection of the venn diagram of technology, economics and politics. He speaks and consults frequently with businesses and groups on how to cope with and take advantage of accelerating technological change.
From 2007 to 2010 he was a Contributing Editor for Biz Tech Magazine, a technology magazine aimed at small-businesses. He was also an Op-Ed contributor to the Des Moines Register from 2007 to 2011. Older short stories and lame attempts at fiction are available via the "stories" link on the right.
Laura is an accomplished seamstress and is very active in community organizations. She recently was Vice President of the Clinton YWCA. She is the Social Justice Coordinator for The Franciscan Sisters of Clinton, where she works as an advocate for social justice and sustainability. She also sells things she makes on her Etsy.com site, LaLaLu Design.
Connor grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa. He worked extensively in politics in the late 1980's and early 1990's before changing careers to the IT field. Laura grew up in Homewood, Illinois and attended the University of Michigan and the Film School at the University of Southern California. She worked for over 10 years in the movie and TV industry.
