Warts and all his rise, fall and rise again was one of the great American stories. Love or hate him, he was without a doubt the greatest legislator of our age. His fingerprints are on nearly every major piece of legislation passed in the last 40 years. I’m sad that he won’t be around to enjoy the final victory of serious health insurance reform. That was truly his life’s work.
