Today’s Friday Music is “Hittsville UK” by the Clash. I’m one of those radical Clash fans that thinks they belong in the pantheon next to Elvis, The Beatles and Hendrix. But I’m also an iconoclast among Clash fans that thinks that “Sandinista,” their epic, 3 disk, 26 song release in 1980 is their magnum opus. Not the best album. Clearly that is “London Calling.” But for breadth, passion and ambition, nothing beats “Sandinista!” There’s at least a full album’s worth of hits on the record.
Anyway, I’ve had Hittsville UK as an earworm for about a week now. Passing on the love.
