The Aughts, A “Lost Decade” In America

During the recent (ongoing) economic unpleasantness, it was common to hear talk in certain circles of how we wanted to avoid a repeat or Japan’s lost decade. However, as many people have pointed out, the aughts have not been kind to Americans in any way, shape or form. (Unless of course you were in the top 1% of income.) In fact, the last decade was already essentially a lost decade for most Americans.
