Several years ago, I began a series of short-stories that I classified as Geek Fiction. They featured a fellah named Mohammed Chang. Mo', as he is called by his friends, is a freelance computer consultant living in Chicago. The stories deal with the trials and tribulations of being an end-user consultant, running one's own business and living the single life.

Several of these stories originally ran in The Rest of Us and MacTropolis the newsletter of the Chicago Macintosh User Group, in 1998 and 1999. There were four or five written then.

The geek lesson there is; always store your backup tapes off-site. Not on top of the server you are backing up.

I am currently hunting down old issues to get the stories back and will post them here as they are transcribed. In addition, there is a Mo Chang book in the works and chapters will be posted as they are ready.
